happy families
Families are weird groups of people eh?
My family is unique, there is no doubting that, but its funny to draw comparisons and find that there are defining familyisms that unite all of us in our differences.
I find that generally mums are crazy and seem to live for the drama, dads are either over protective or absent(sometimes they fluctuate between the two, or do a swift move from one to the other depending on how badly you fail in their eyes),grandads drink lots of alcohol, grannies are lovely and spoil you lots, siblings fight verbally and physically and land eachother in trouble at any oppertunity until they grow up a bit, and without realising it , somewhere along the line they become friends.
as for the wider family... I dont think anyone really knows there whole family. The only time families gather together is for Christenings, marrages and funerals. (hatches, matches and despatches) These are painful experiences (literally, cheeck pinching anyone!!!!) and normally involve drunk people and an uncomfortable repeated conversation involving the key phrase "I remember you when you were knee high to a button/grasshopper". I dont even know there names for the most part, i wouldn't recognise them on the street.
aye...
